Porter Wright ranked in top 10 of the Am Law 200 2020 A-List: Female Equity Partner Scorecard
Porter Wright was ranked in the top ten of the 2020 A-List: Female Equity Partner Scorecard, a ranking of the percent of female equity partners in the Am Law 200. According to the ranking, Porter Wright is ranked tenth with 26.8% of the firm’s equity partners women.
“We are so proud of the work we have done to support and encourage women in their legal careers. But we also know there is much more work to do as a firm and as an industry,” said Joyce Edelman, chair of the firm’s Women’s Leadership Initiative. “With national statistics showing just 19% of equity partners are women, it makes programs like the Diversity Lab’s Mansfield Rule, and other similar efforts, so important..”
Porter Wright is a proud participant in the Mansfield Rule Program, which it joined in July 2019. This national program focuses on increasing the representation of women, lawyers of color, LGBTQ+ lawyers, and lawyers with disabilities for leadership and governance roles, equity partner promotions, formal client pitch opportunities, and senior lateral positions.
Porter Wright is also part of a five-law firm coalition in Columbus known as Gender Equity in the Legal Industry, or GELI, that hosts a unique series of conversations focused on gender equity in the legal industry, has a formal mentoring program, and its Women’s Leadership Initiative provides opportunities for developing business, networking and mentorship to help women succeed in their practice and grow in the leadership ranks at our firm.
“Our involvement in these programs is an essential part of our firm culture and critical to our success,” said Bob Tannous, managing partner of Porter Wright. “We are committed to attracting diverse talent to build a more dynamic legal profession, a more inviting workplace, and a richer community.”
