The ability to gather, acquire, store and analyze vast amounts of data has forever changed the way companies do business. It presents risks — including the chance of betraying customer and business relationships, incurring unfavorable public sentiment and incurring costly litigation through inadvertent disclosure of sensitive information. Our privacy and data security attorneys help clients reduce the risks inherent to data use, storage and transmission, and respond appropriately and in legal compliance when a breach of information occurs. We also advise clients about protecting company confidentiality intellectual property and trade secrets in social media.

We have a broad range of privacy law knowledge and capability, and significant experience in data breach response. Five members of the practice are certified by the International Association of Privacy Professionals as Certified Information Privacy Professionals; one of whom is a Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E). In addition, one member formerly served with the Cyber Division of the FBI where he focused on cyber threats to U.S. businesses and critical infrastructure and one member served in the U.S. Army as a cryptologic linguist where he identified and exploited threat communications and provided intelligence analysis while embedded with special operations personnel.
