Overview

Chad brings over 20 years of experience serving clients in a range of complex matters in the areas of product liability litigation, cybersecurity and data privacy, and e-discovery. He has led teams to represent clients on a national basis and in local matters in industries such as manufacturing, medical device, banking, construction and energy.

Product liability
Chad represents manufacturers in litigation focused on product liability and mass tort matters on both the local and national level. He has spent over 15 years representing entities within the tire industry, including a number of tire manufacturers, tire retailers and automotive parts companies. For these clients, Chad has engaged in a range of counsel from trying individual product liability matters to verdict to providing litigation readiness advice to serving as national counsel for a major tire manufacturer and industrial equipment manufacturer. He also has served as local counsel for other manufacturers in areas such as heavy equipment and medical devices.

Cybersecurity and data privacy
As co-chair of the firm’s privacy and data security team, Chad provides extensive counsel in the areas of cybersecurity and data privacy. He helps clients navigate the legal and regulatory requirements of responding to complex data breach and cybersecurity incidents. Chad also works proactively with businesses to prepare them for responding to such events once they occur, including drafting cybersecurity incident response plans and holding trainings to simulate breaches and test remediation plans.

In the area of data privacy, Chad reviews client policies, procedures and website products to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and industry best practices. He has experience updating website privacy policies and data processing contract terms to be compliant with the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

E-Discovery
Chad also has comprehensive experience coordinating e-discovery in complex business litigation matters, including management of vendors and supervision of e-discovery teams. From matters involving several thousand records to hundreds of thousands of records, he works with clients to develop action plans that fulfill their legal obligations in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. These projects have spanned across the country in both state and federal courts.
