International financing, including letters of credit
Almost all international business involves an element of international finance, ranging from a letter of credit for an individual sales transaction to complex financing for multinational business transactions. Porter Wright attorneys have extensive experience in international banking and finance. We represent foreign lending institutions and domestic institutions with active international departments. We advise clients on international banking operations, including letters of credit, bankers acceptances and other forms of trade financing. We also counsel on official and private guarantees and insurance and on U.S. bank mergers and acquisitions. Our attorneys work closely with foreign commercial and investment banking institutions and have negotiated corporate and mortgage financing for clients with such institutions. These same institutions provide our clients access to international venture capital and merger and acquisition financing.
