International financing, including letters of credit

Porter Wright attorneys represent domestic corporations and limited liability companies, domestic lenders and foreign lenders in international banking and finance transactions, often working with co-counsel from Brazil, Germany, Canada, Japan and Mexico, among other countries.  We advise clients on international banking operations, including both commercial and standby letters of credit, intercompany loans, trade financing issues, supply chain financing issues, and export, import and anti-money laundering issues. Our international team also counsels clients on guarantees and the tax issues attendant thereto, insurance, and U.S. bank mergers and acquisitions. We work closely with foreign commercial and investment banking institutions and have negotiated corporate, mortgage and acquisition financing and venture capital investment transactions for clients.
