EPA extends deadline for manufacturers and importers to report PFAS

On Sept. 5, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) extended the deadline for manufacturers and importers to submit the information related to perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) required under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA). EPA did not change any of the record keeping and reporting requirements that were finalized in October of 2023, but the data submission period now runs through Jan. 22, 2026 (as opposed to May 8, 2025) for most affected businesses.

PFAS are widely used in products and components with water, heat, or grease resistance, and it is not too late to take action if you are unsure whether your business is required to report under this broadly applicable rule.
