As one of only 27 Ohio State Bar Association Certified Specialists in appellate law, Terry brings a refined strategic lens to high-stakes cases, ensuring that his clients’ positions are preserved and persuasively argued before the Ohio Supreme Court and all 12 of the state’s appellate districts.

Terry’s practice includes diverse and significant subject matter, ranging from intellectual property protection to complex constitutional questions. His recent experience includes:

• High-Net-Worth Divorce & Complex Asset Division: Representing individuals in domestic relations matters involving high-value marital estates. He specializes in cases requiring the division of jointly owned businesses and complex property interests, applying his commercial litigation background to navigate intricate business valuations and the tracing of separate versus marital assets.
• Constitutional & Municipal Law: Navigating cutting-edge "takings" and standing issues, including representing clients in inverse condemnation actions involving municipal authority and property rights.
• Complex Jurisdictional Appeals: Briefing and arguing intricate jurisdictional and procedural disputes before the Ohio Supreme Court, including matters involving final appealable orders and discretionary review.
• Financial & Fiduciary Disputes: Continuing his deep-rooted practice in financial services litigation, trust and fiduciary disputes and business torts.

While Terry is primarily known for his work in the courtroom, he also serves as a trusted business counselor. He acts as outside general counsel for small businesses and negotiates complex agreements for private businesses and SBA-affiliated government contractors. His unique perspective as an appellate specialist allows him to advise clients on risk avoidance and "appeals-proofing" their transactions and trial strategies from the outset.
