Schiavone appointed to two new roles at the Defense Research Institute
Porter Wright is proud to announce that associate Sara Schiavone has been appointed to two new roles in the Defense Research Institute (DRI), which is one of the premiere national organizations of civil defense attorneys and in-house counsel. Sara will serve as the Online Communities Chair for the Product Liability Committee and as the Online Education Vice-Chair for the Young Lawyers Committee. These new roles also put Sara on the steering committee for both the Product Liability and Young Lawyers Committees.
As chair of Online Communities for the Product Liability Committee, Sara is responsible for managing the committee’s online forum which allows DRI members to share information and communicate with one another, and ensures that DRI's programs are well-marketed. The Online Education Subcommittee for the Young Lawyers Committee develops and hosts webcast and webinar presentations for all DRI members. In an effort to provide young lawyers presenting opportunities, the speakers and authors of these presentations are exclusively young lawyers.
"Since joining Porter Wright, Sara has shown a keen interest in defending our client manufacturers subject to product liability lawsuits” said Liz Moyo, chair of Porter Wright's Product Liability Practice Group and Membership Vice-Chair of the DRI Product Liability Committee. "I am proud of Sara for taking on these leadership roles for such an excellent organization that will help expand her knowledge and resource base."
Sara is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Department and is based in the Columbus office. Her work focuses primarily on tort litigation, with an emphasis on product liability and wrongful death cases. Sara also has e-discovery, commercial litigation, and eminent domain experience.
