Overview
Sara focuses her litigation practice primarily on tort litigation, with an emphasis on product liability, wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases. She also has experience with e-discovery matters and litigation involving construction defects, commercial disputes and real estate.
Sara’s experience with tort matters spans state and federal court, including single-plaintiff actions and multidistrict litigation. She has defended clients in wrongful death matters stemming from negligence and product liability claims, and in negligence actions involving catastrophic injuries. Sara’s product liability experience includes representing manufacturers and suppliers of prescription drugs, medical devices, consumer products, chemicals and component parts.
Sara also manages and defends all claims and litigation, including product liability matters, for a large international manufacturer of consumer products. In this role, Sara works closely with the business and operations divisions to provide businesses-minded advice and solutions on a variety of topics, including proactively minimizing litigation risks and quickly responding to issues that may arise to minimize exposure. She routinely advises the company on packaging, warranty, quality control, contract and subpoena matters.
Sara graduated in the top five of her law school class with a litigation concentration, pro bono honors, and 11 CALI Excellence for the Future Awards®. While in law school, Sara taught and mentored law school students as a teaching assistant for first-year legal research and writing. She also served as an associate notes editor on the Capital University Law Review and as a judicial extern to the Honorable Jeffrey S. Sutton of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
