Laura Jurcevich elevated to co-chair of Porter Wright’s immigration group

Porter Wright is proud to announce that Columbus attorney Laura M. Jurcevich has assumed the role of co-chair of the firm’s Immigration Practice Group. Laura will serve in her new role alongside attorney Rob Cohen.

“We are excited for this opportunity to promote Laura and her incredible work in the field,” shared Cohen, who has served as chair of the group since its inception more than 15 years ago. “I look forward to sharing the reigns with Laura and leading the dedicated team, together.”

For more than 18 years, Laura has worked in the public and private sectors to provide immigration services from employment sponsorship, visas, citizenship and naturalization to compliance. She has served employers and employees on immigration matters and represented colleges, universities and healthcare systems, among many other companies in multiple sectors. Laura effectively guides clients across all cultural backgrounds through the complex maze of immigration to help them remain in the U.S. temporarily or permanently.

In June 2021, Laura was appointed to the Columbus Bar Association (CBA) Board of Governors. She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and serves on the executive committee and is treasurer of its Ohio chapter. Laura also is a member of the Ohio Women’s Bar Association, the CBA Professional Ethics Committee, the Hispanic National Bar Association and the Chief Justice Thomas J. Moyer Inn of Court. Laura volunteers at Legal Aid Society of Columbus Naturalization Clinics.
