American College of Trial Lawyers elects Curphey to its Board of Regents
Porter Wright is proud to announce that partner Jim Curphey has been elected to the Board of Regents of the American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL), one of the most prestigious professional organizations of trial lawyers in North America. He will represent Region 9 on the Board of Regents, which encompasses Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Tennessee.
Curphey, who became a Fellow of the College in 2016, joins an elite group of trial lawyers recognized for their exceptional skill and integrity. With more than 40 years of experience, he represents clients in complex business litigation, including mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property disputes, corporate governance, and fiduciary duty matters. He is also an active arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association and a frequent lecturer on trial practice and procedures.
The Board of Regents serves as the governing body of the College, which is dedicated to maintaining and improving the standards of trial practice, professionalism, ethics and the administration of justice. Membership in the College is by invitation only and limited to no more than 1% of lawyers in any state or province.
“Jim’s election to the Board of Regents reflects his exceptional skill, professionalism and dedication to advancing the practice of law,” said Bob Tannous, managing partner of Porter Wright. “We are proud to see his leadership recognized by one of the most respected organizations in our profession.”
