Porter Wright’s LGBTQ+ Business Practice Group has been honored by the Three Rivers Business Alliance (3RBA) at its My Business My Pride LGBTQ+ Excellence in Business Celebration. The firm accepted the URA Workforce Development Award last evening at The Priory Hotel in Pittsburgh.

“We are beyond humbled and proud to receive this honor and grateful for the opportunity to attend the beautiful event where we were surrounded by Pittsburgh’s incredibly supportive LGBTQ+ business community,” shared Ron Hicks and Ted Walters, co-chairs of Porter Wright’s LGBTQ+ Business Practice Group. “Our firm also was proud to sponsor the event and honor a young LGBTQ+ professional who is on the rise in our community.”

The URA Workforce Development Award honors Porter Wright’s LGBTQ+ Business Practice Group for “actively developing, contributing and promoting economic development, job creation, stability and success for LGBTQ+ people and other marginalized people.” In addition to receiving this honor, the firm was proud to give the Porter Wright Law Firm Emerging Young LGBTQ+ Leader Award to Adrian Fierro, a branch manager at Key Bank in Pittsburgh.

The 3RBA My Business My Pride LGBTQ+ Excellence in Business Celebration was held to honor and lift those LGBTQ+ business owners, individuals and allied businesses who have played a critical role in achieving the 3RBA mission to support the LGBTQ+ entrepreneur and advance diversity, equity and inclusion. According to 3RBA, “Every award given highlights the significant investment and innovation of our friends and neighbors working to support an inclusive economy. Awardees will have made significant and demonstrated advances in strengthening and supporting our LGBTQ+ community and making our region a great place to work and live.”
