Ahran McCloskey joins Porter Wright’s Government & Regulatory Affairs Group

Porter Wright is pleased to announce that Ahran McCloskey has joined the Government & Regulatory Affairs group in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. Ahran leverages her nearly two decades of experience in key roles with the U.S. Department of State, Department of Homeland Security and Department of Commerce to assist clients with a wide range of immigration and international trade matters.

She focuses her practice on assisting clients with immigration petitions and visa processing, as well as advising on international trade matters, including trade remedies, customs, export controls and economic sanctions.

Her federal government experience includes providing legal advice to senior leadership on U.S. trade, immigration and visa law and policy. She collaborated with the National Security Council within the Executive Office of the President on high-level legal and policy issues and oversaw legal review of proposed visa legislation and administrative rulemaking. She has also partnered with the Department of Justice in litigating numerous trade and immigration matters.

She holds a J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and a B.A. from the University of Michigan.
