Overview

Greg is a trial lawyer with over 30 years of experience representing clients across a wide variety of industries. Throughout his career, Greg has obtained favorable results as lead trial counsel for clients in courts and arbitrations across the country. He obtained a $22.9 million jury verdict in a federal case involving the transfer of the largest parcel of undeveloped real estate in Chicago, which he successfully defended on appeal before the Seventh Circuit. This outcome was recognized as a Top 100 Verdict of the Year by the National Law Journal. In another federal jury trial, Greg obtained a complete defense verdict on behalf of the owner of a luxury resort in Los Cabos facing claims for more than $30 million in damages in connection with the purchase of the resort. Greg obtained a complete defense award in an arbitration on behalf of a privately-held multinational toy company facing claims for more than $5 million in damages arising out of the development of a new e-commerce platform. In another arbitration, Greg obtained a multimillion-dollar award on behalf of investors who had been squeezed out of a large real estate development project.

In addition to commercial litigation, Greg represents clients in white collar criminal matters and internal investigations. Greg’s practice in this area dates back to his tenure in the Antitrust Division for the United States Department of Justice where he successfully prosecuted civil and criminal cases. Greg represented a high net worth individual in a federal criminal prosecution involving an undeclared Swiss bank account, ultimately obtaining a sentence of probation and community service without any term of incarceration, which was affirmed following an appeal by the government. He represented the North American division of a large publicly-traded food services company in a federal criminal investigation of alleged fraud in government contracting. He represented high-level executives and other professionals in connection with federal grand jury proceedings involving alleged anticompetitive activity (including price-fixing, territorial allocation and output restrictions), bankruptcy fraud, and other white collar crimes, often obtaining immunity or otherwise resolving the matter without the filing of charges. In addition, Greg has handled internal investigations of misconduct by executives and other matters on behalf of corporate boards and owners.

After being a partner at a large international firm, Greg started his own litigation boutique. He is a trusted counselor for business leaders, advising owners of commercial real estate assets, luxury hotels, resorts and private clubs on a myriad of contract and other business issues. He assists high net worth individuals dealing with an array of personal and high stakes matters and counsels companies in the real estate, financial services and consumer goods manufacturing industries with highly sensitive cybersecurity incidents.
