Liz Moyo named to Columbus Business First 40 Under 40 List

Liz Moyo, a partner in the firm's Litigation Department, has been selected as a Columbus Business First 2020 "40 Under 40" honoree. Liz was selected among a record number of nominations for the annual honor.

As chair of the firm’s Product Liability Practice Group, Liz concentrates her practice on resolving personal injury cases on behalf of manufacturers and suppliers of complex products. She enjoys working with company witnesses and experts to learn about and defend a product’s design and function. Clients trust Liz with their high stakes tort matters and find her to be a calming influence in response to catastrophic events. Liz’s experience as a trial attorney also extends to businesses acting in a fiduciary capacity, those protecting their products’ brands, and those subject to business tort claims like fraud and conspiracy.

“This honor is so well deserved—Liz is someone who spends her career and her free time making a positive impact,” said partner Joyce Edelman, who nominated Liz for 40 Under 40. “She is an experienced leader in a high stakes area of law, proudly provides pro-bono legal services as a volunteer for the Legal Aid Society of Columbus and works to support women in the legal industry.”

Liz is a member of the steering committee for Porter Wright’s Women’s Leadership Initiative, is involved in the firm’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee, serves as a mentor for women law students through Capital University Law School’s Women in Law mentoring program and is involved in a five-law firm consortium focused on gender equity that discusses strategies to identify and solve issues around equal pay, and support of women attorneys.

“Liz has been key in the firm’s efforts to create a more diverse, equitable and inclusive legal industry,” said Bob Tannous, managing partner of Porter Wright. “She is an important voice at the table and an incredible role model for our young attorneys.”

Moyo earned her J.D. from Capital University Law School magna cum laude and her B.A. from Smith College.

The 40 Under 40 recipients will be featured in the May 29, 2020 issue of Columbus Business First and will be honored at a reception in the fall.
