Tristan focuses his practice on energy and utility law and commercial litigation. He represents regulated utilities and other businesses in complex regulatory proceedings, general commercial litigation, and strategic business matters.

As a member of the firm's energy and utility practice, Tristan advises clients on a broad range of regulatory and transactional matters before state utility commissions. His experience includes rate proceedings, merger and acquisition approvals, customer complaint proceedings, tariff development and modification, infrastructure-development projects, financing matters, and long-term debt issuances. He works closely with clients to navigate evolving regulatory requirements while advancing strategic business objectives

Tristan also maintains an active commercial litigation practice. He has experience in both state and federal court and represents businesses through all phases of litigation from pre-suit risk assessment and dispute resolution through discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, and settlement negotiations. His experience spans complex commercial disputes, contract claims, and business torts, as well as assisting clients with preemptively protecting and preserving their claims. His experience includes advising clients across a broad range of industries including the regulated utility, construction, real estate, consumer-product, and insurance industries.

Prior to joining Porter Wright, Tristan served as a federal judiciary extern for the Honorable Edmund Sargus, Jr. in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.
