Sunny Yang named president of Chinese science and tech group in Pittsburgh

Porter Wright is proud to announce that Pittsburgh partner Sunny Yang has been named president of the Chinese Association for Science and Technology of Pittsburgh (CAST-P). In addition, Sunny has been elected to serve on the advisory board for CAST-P’s national organization, the Chinese Association for Science and Technology, USA.

“Sunny is always seeking new ways to serve her community, whether it be through industry groups, legal associations, pro bono work or nonprofit service,” shared Tim Gallagher, Partner-in-Charge of Porter Wright’s Pittsburgh office. “We are all proud of her leadership commitment to CAST, both nationally and regionally.”

In her new executive role, Sunny serves as the lead spokesperson for the organization in Pittsburgh. She will work to keep CAST-P focused on its mission to help its members connect with one another and build community, exchange knowledge and field development, advance in their careers in Pennsylvania and throughout the U.S., and promote the traditional Chinese culture. In fact, this past weekend, Sunny delivered the opening speech at the 26th Annual CAST-P Greater Pittsburgh Lunar New Year Fair & Show held at the Carnegie Museum of art. More than 2,000 people attended the free event which featured performances, games and exhibits to celebrate the traditional Chinese New Year spring festival.

Sunny is a corporate lawyer with Porter Wright and works with clients on international business matters and trade. She represents Chinese entities doing business in the U.S., as well as U.S. entities pursing investments and operating in China. Sunny is admitted to practice in both the U.S. and the People’s Republic of China.
