Litigator Shane Pennington joins Porter Wright’s D.C. office
Porter Wright is pleased to announce that litigator Shane Pennington has joined the firm as a partner in its Washington, D.C. office. Shane has extensive experience representing clients on federal regulatory issues involving a number of industries, including energy, pharmaceuticals, controlled substances, aviation and agriculture.

A former law clerk to federal judges on the D.C. Circuit, the Fifth Circuit and the D.C. District Court, Shane has argued cases in the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the First, Ninth and D.C. Circuits, securing landmark results for clients. While he regularly litigates cases challenging federal and state agencies, Shane also works with regulators to devise novel solutions to issues arising under the Administrative Procedure Act, the Controlled Substances Act, and the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act. Shane has represented companies, scientists, and industry coalitions before the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Department of Health and Human Services, the Food and Drug Administration, the Department of Justice, and the Securities and Exchange Commission.

He is an active member of the American Bar Association and the International Cannabis Bar Association. Shane received his law degree from The University of Texas School of Law and his undergraduate degree from University of Houston.
