Levine interviewed by MLex Market Insight on eggs case victory
Porter Wright's Jay Levine was interviewed by MLex Market Insight in the article, "Favorable egg antitrust verdicts could spur farmers, trade associations to seek more jury trials," which was published on Dec. 31, 2019. Porter Wright announced it had secured a second landmark win in a major federal antitrust case on Dec. 12, 2019 for its client, Rose Acre Farms, Inc. The article noted that the December 2019 and June 2018 federal verdicts could encourage defendants to take to trial similar cases.
"I think the verdict does help trade associations, agricultural cooperatives and their members feel a little bit better about creating legitimate standard-setting and legitimate programs and not necessarily being accused of being a pretext for some antitrust conspiracy," Jay Levine, who represented defendant Rose Acre Farms, told MLex.
The trial team was led by Porter Wright attorneys Jim King, Don Barnes and Jay Levine. Read the entire article here.
