Kim Lopater selected to Bar Leadership Institute and as VP of Diversity Access Pipeline in Tampa
Porter Wright is pleased to share that attorney Kim Lopater has been selected to join the Hillsborough County Bar Association's 2023-2024 Bar Leadership Institute. She also has accepted an offer to serve as Vice President of Diversity Access Pipeline, Inc. in Tampa, Florida.
The Bar Leadership Institute is a selective, year-long program created to develop young attorneys who have the potential to grow into leadership positions with the Hillsborough County Bar Association and other local community organizations. Program members participate in monthly learning modules and site visits, and they manage and complete a collaborative community service project. Throughout the program, Kim will take part in professional and interpersonal skill development, discussions on issues facing legal professionals such as time management, public relations and community involvement, and increase knowledge of local service opportunities.
Last year, Kim became a board member of Diversity Access Pipeline, Inc., a nonprofit that operates the Journey to Esquire programs in the greater Tampa Bay area. This year, she has accepted the role of vice president of Diversity Access Pipeline. Inc, to help further the organization's mission "to create lawyers you lead, mentor, and inspire, one student at a time." The programs help diverse law students, including BIPOC, LGBTQ+, disabled and differently-abled, first-generation and immigrant, to navigate the journey to esquire by providing emotional and financial support.
