Jim Curphey admitted to American College of Trial Lawyers
Porter Wright is pleased to announce that Jim Curphey, partner and chair of the firm’s Litigation Department, has become a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. The induction ceremony took place during the College’s 2016 Annual Meeting in Philadelphia, PA.
Founded in 1950, the College, one of the premier legal associations in America, is composed of the best of the trial bar from the United States and Canada. Fellowship in the College is extended by invitation only and only after careful investigation, to those experienced trial lawyers who have mastered the art of advocacy and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility and collegiality.
“We are proud of Jim’s admission to the College and his well-earned recognition of his experience and skills as a trial lawyer,” said Bob Tannous, Porter Wright’s Managing Partner.
Membership in the College cannot exceed one percent of the total lawyer population of any state or province. Curphey joins six other Porter Wright attorneys, Kathleen Brinkman, Terrance Miller, James Oliphant, Carolyn (Candi) Taggart, Kathleen Trafford and Robert (Buzz) Trafford, as a Fellow.
Curphey’s trial experience spans more than three decades and includes representing companies in cases involving patents, trademarks and trade dress, copyrights, trade secrets, restrictive covenants, and unfair competition in proceedings across the United States and abroad. He handles matters involving corporate dissolution, mergers and acquisitions, breach of fiduciary duty, corporate governance and a wide variety of contract disputes.
