Maureen focuses her practice on white collar defense and appellate matters. As a former federal prosecutor, Maureen has extensive experience investigating and prosecuting complex criminal matters, as well as in leading high-stakes litigation. Maureen is an accomplished trial lawyer and appellate litigator, having tried over 15 cases to verdict and briefed and argued numerous appeals. 

Prior to joining Porter Wright, Maureen served as Assistant U.S. Attorney and Deputy Chief in the Violent Crimes and National Security Section of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Illinois, where she investigated, prosecuted, and supervised a broad range of federal offenses, including money laundering, tax fraud, healthcare and insurance fraud, bribery, embezzlement, export violations, labor trafficking, child exploitation and violent crimes. Maureen has extensive experience leading multi-agency investigative teams, including in international matters. Her work has won her recognition from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Internal Revenue Service - Criminal Investigations Division, the Chicago Police Department and the Cook County Crimestoppers.
