Porter Wright is proud to announce that Megan Farrell has joined the firm as a litigation attorney in its Pittsburgh office. Farrell brings nearly 25 years of experience as a litigator and has recently focused her practice on managing complex commercial litigation for financial institutions.

“We are excited to add Megan to our growing Pittsburgh team,” shared Tim Gallagher, partner-in-charge of Porter Wright’s Pittsburgh office. “Her litigation experience, coupled with her decade of service to the U.S. Attorney’s Office here in Western PA, is a great asset as we continue to best serve the needs of our clients.”

Farrell brings an extensive background in multiple areas of litigation, including commercial, consumer protection, employment discrimination, bankruptcy, medical malpractice, products liability, torts and civil rights. Most recently, she has served major financial institutions throughout the United States in matters ranging from mortgage foreclosure and auto loans to trusts and retail banking.

Farrell’s prior experience includes serving as Assistant U.S. Attorney (AUSA) in the Civil Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of PA. While there, she led a significant caseload of civil actions involving the U.S. and/or its agencies and officers, many of which were pending in federal district court and bankruptcy court. Her government experience further includes serving as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Donald E. Ziegler, United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. Farrell also brings experience with an AmLaw 100 firm where she assisted in defending complex and multi-party commercial and product liability cases in state and federal courts.

Farrell received her B.A. with high distinction from Pennsylvania State University and her J.D., magna cum laude, from Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law. She is admitted to practice in both Pennsylvania and California.
