Larry serves as the partner-in-charge of Porter Wright’s Tampa office. He is a seasoned trial attorney and client problem-solver who over the years has counseled and represented numerous companies and individuals in high-stakes “bet the company” disputes involving professional liability, trade secrets, restrictive covenants, insurance coverage and health care.

Larry has extensive experience in litigation as well as jury and non-jury trials. Larry is one of the few attorneys in Florida who has tried both restrictive covenant and legal malpractice cases successfully to a jury. In one restrictive covenant jury trial, he and his team were able to recover damages, exemplary damages and attorneys’ fees from the breaching parties. 

In the area of professional liability, Larry's practice focuses on the litigation and trial defense of professional malpractice claims against insurance agents and attorneys.  In one particular legal malpractice jury trial, his attorney clients not only prevailed with a defense verdict but were awarded (and recovered) a high six-figure amount in attorneys’ fees from the suing parties. He has defended in excess of 350 professional liability claims during his career and is recognized as the preferred defense counsel by a number of insurers, law firms, insurance agencies and the Florida Association of Insurance Agents (FAIA).

In the area of insurance coverage, Larry provides counseling and trial representation to insurers and insureds in third-party insurance coverage disputes. In this regard, he has successfully litigated numerous declaratory judgment actions in state and federal courts. In the area of health care fraud, Larry has handled the defense of high-profile False Claims Act qui tam actions in which he has obtained summary judgments for his clients.
