Overview
Kate is a member of the firm’s Corporate Department and Health Care Practice Group. She counsels hospitals, physician practice corporations and home health agencies on matters involving compliance, entity formation, mergers and acquisitions, contracting and joint ventures. Her work includes advising on federal and state anti-kickback and anti-referral laws and regulations, managed care contracting, patient care issues, risk management and professional liability concerns. Kate also assists clients with internal investigations and strategies to mitigate regulatory and litigation risk.
Leveraging years of litigation experience, Kate helps clients proactively address corporate legal challenges, prevent escalation of issues and position themselves for success. She has extensive experience negotiating contracts and drafting transactional documents. In addition to her health care and corporate practice, Kate offers counsel on securities compliance, transactions, and regulatory matters.
Before joining the firm, Kate practiced as a plaintiff’s attorney, handling complex claims involving product liability, Title IX, sexual assault and harassment and fraud. This background gives her unique insight into risk exposure and dispute resolution strategies.
