Porter Wright stands in solidarity with all Asian communities in condemning violence and discrimination, and we call upon our allies across all communities to stand against racism and intolerance. Porter Wright and its employee resource groups, the Equality Alliance, the Diverse Attorneys Network and our Women’s Leadership Initiative, all stand committed to work to create lasting change.

The tragic events in Atlanta last week and other events across the country illustrate the urgent need to take action against racism, sexism, xenophobia, homophobia and transphobia. Over the past year, discrimination and racist attacks against the Asian American and Pacific Islander community have increased dramatically. Attacks against the LGBTQ+ community are on the rise, especially violence against transgender women of color. We see the violence against black and indigenous people continue despite increased national outcries for change.

We have lost too many to violence and systemic racism. We urge all–our team, our clients, our friends and our community–to join us in condemning all forms of violence and discrimination and to work together to end oppression and create a more just and equitable society.
