Jhay Spottswood-Harrison selected to African American Leadership Academy

Porter Wright is proud to announce that Jhay Spottswood-Harrison has been selected to participate in the African American Leadership Academy’s class of 2026. The African American Leadership Academy seeks individuals who have demonstrated potential for top leadership roles in their professional and civic life and prepares them for success.

“Jhay’s selection to the African American Leadership Academy is a testament to her professionalism and unwavering commitment to her community,” said Jim King, chair of Porter Wright’s Litigation Department. “We are proud to support her as she continues to grow as a leader and inspire others through this program.”

Jhay is a senior associate who counsels clients in the areas of intellectual property, business competition and e-discovery. She was previously a judicial law clerk for the Hon. Sarah D. Morrison for the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. She recently completed the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Pathfinders Program.

A community-based leadership development program, the Academy’s mission is to expand the number and effectiveness of African American leaders throughout central Ohio. It enlarges the definition of success and redefines the description of leadership to include doing well at work, to do more good in the community.
