Laura Jurcevich re-elected to CBA Board of Governors
Porter Wright is proud to announce that attorney Laura Jurcevich has been re-elected to serve on the Columbus Bar Association’s Board of Governors for a term of two years. This is Laura’s second consecutive term on the board. She will be sworn in at the CBA’s Annual Meeting on Thursday, June 9, at The Fives Columbus.
Laura was recommended for a second term on the CBA’s Board of Governors and decided to run again to “support the association in its continued efforts to be a valuable resource for knowledge, relationships and service for its members and our community.”
As of counsel at Porter Wright, Laura brings nearly two decades of experience counseling corporate and higher education clients on immigration matters of all types. She has helped clients to successfully secure permanent residency status and nonimmigrant status for highly skilled professionals in a number of industries including health care, education, information technology, hospitality and retail. Her bilingual skills have allowed her to communicate directly with Spanish-speaking clients seeking DACA and temporary protected status and employment authorization through permanent residency.
In her personal statement prior to the election, Laura shared, “Knowledge. Relationships. Service. Bar associations, including the Columbus Bar Association, have proved a valuable source for all three to me throughout my career. Substantive and practical knowledge to perform our responsibilities to our clients and tribunals. Relationships to grow professionally and personally. Service to individuals who face barriers to accessing legal representation and to our profession through mentoring and sponsoring fellow and aspiring attorneys.”
