Remote Depositions: A Panacea During a Pandemic?

Jim participated in a panel discussion for IADC entitled, "Remote Depositions: A Panacea During a Pandemic?" Jim, along with others, discussed how litigators must become adept at fully remote depositions so that litigation can progress despite physical distancing. The panel showed how a deposition by video-conference takes place, how exhibits are shared, marked and even annotated, and how a high quality record can be obtained. The panel also discussed challenges the medium presents, how to avoid pitfalls and the possible need for rules changes.
