Overview

Emily has experience in handling complex commercial litigation matters. She is involved in all phases of litigation and assists in developing effective case strategies tailored to each matter. Her practice includes in-depth legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, managing discovery and depositions, participation in mediation and settlement negotiations, and drafting dispositive and non-dispositive motions. She has participated in state and federal proceedings arising out of alleged breach of restrictive covenants, misappropriation of trade secrets, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, product defects, class action matters and employment disputes. She also has experience counseling employers regarding employee handbooks and policies, as well as advising and educating clients on emerging state and federal employment law developments. 

Emily completed two clerkships in the Northern District of Ohio, where she most recently served as a Term Law Clerk for United States Magistrate Judge James E. Grimes Jr.

As a federal law clerk, Emily conducted legal research and drafted reports and recommendations and memorandum opinion and orders across a range of matters including social security administration appeals, habeas corpus petitions and general civil cases. She also managed case schedules and provided support during mediations and hearings on a wide variety of civil and criminal cases.
