Estabrook Trust names Tami Kirby as new trustee

The Hubert A. & Gladys C. Estabrook Charitable Trust has named a new trustee effective Jan. 1, 2022. Tami Hart Kirby is chair of the Porter Wright Bankruptcy and Reorganization Practice Group and partner-in-charge of the firm’s Dayton, Ohio office. She will replace as the Estabrook Charitable Trust Trustee, Bruce Snyder, who has served as trustee for the past 33 years.

Snyder said, “I am delighted that Tami Kirby has agreed to take over the management of this wonderful trust which was established by one of the founding partners of the Dayton, Ohio firm which is now the Dayton office of Porter Wright Morris & Arthur. Because Tami holds her undergraduate degree from the University of Cincinnati and her law degree from the University of Dayton’s Keller School of Law and sits on the board of advisors of that law school, Tami is eminently well qualified to manage a trust intended to benefit law schools and the study of law in the State of Ohio.”

In addition to giving grants to Ohio law schools, Porter Wright also has funded via the Trust legal programs throughout Ohio, including the Sexual Assault Nurse's Examiner Legal Training Project at Miami Valley Hospital, the production of the “Your Court System and You” educational videotape distributed to libraries and secondary schools throughout southwestern Ohio, and courtroom, jail and patent office interactive educational displays in the Cityscape area of Boonshoft Museum of Discovery. In addition, through the trust, Porter Wright has awarded scholarships to more than 60 participants in the Sinclair Community College Legal Assisting Program.
