Mark regularly counsels clients in several areas of law, including property rights, environmental regulation and litigation for energy producers (coal, oil and gas), employment law, and litigation defense, as well as fair housing training and litigation defense for housing owners and managers. He has represented Ohio coal mine operators in landmark court cases, including the regulatory takings case of State ex rel. RTG v. State of Ohio (Ohio Supreme Court 2002). He also has considerable experience in eminent domain litigation in state and federal courts. Additionally, Mark regularly defends clients against administrative and civil actions involving alleged mining-related damages and is a frequent practitioner before the Ohio Reclamation Commission.
