Robert Hermes recently moderated a discussion between three experienced arbitrators regarding how the arbitration community should assess and adopt best practices and strategies of identifying and protecting private information. The three arbitrators, John Cole, Dan Schmidt and David Thirkill, shared their experiences in this area, how their awareness of these issues has been heightened, and how they themselves have adopted practices for protecting confidential information. A summary of this discussion appears in the ARIAS-U.S. Quarterly, Q2, 2017.
