Randi Ellias named vice-chair of ABA Tips Committee
Randi Ellias has been named vice-chair of the ABA TIPS Excess Surplus Lines and Reinsurance General Committee.
Ellias focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation and arbitration, including complex insurance coverage disputes and reinsurance matters. She has handled matters concerning allegations of nondisclosure and misrepresentation, treaty interpretation, ownership of common account reinsurance, direct access to reinsurance proceeds by policyholders, number of occurrences, contractual and statutory obligations regarding security, and compliance with actuarial standards of practice. Ellias also counsels clients on coverage issues, claims handling, and contract wording issues, including the drafting of settlement agreements and commutation agreements. She was named a leader in insurance law in The Best Lawyers in America (2016-2018).
She is a co-founder of Porter Wright's Women in Reinsurance organization and a member of the Publication Committee of AIRROC Matters. Ellias has spoken at AIRROC and ARIAS meetings and the Women in Insurance Leadership Forum.
