Hermes, Shapiro file lawsuit on behalf of Chicago homeless woman

Porter Wright attorneys Bob Hermes and Andy Shapiro, in partnership with the Law Project of the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless and Access Living, have filed a lawsuit claiming Chicago city homeless shelters violate the rights of people with disabilities. The Chicago Coalition for the Homeless outlined the case in a blog post released on Feb. 20, 2020.

“The city has an obligation make its programs accessible and this lawsuit will hopefully lead to long-overdue changes in the city’s emergency homeless shelter program,” said Bob Hermes, an attorney and partner at Porter Wright.
