Chess Bedsole joins Porter Wright’s Government & Regulatory Affairs Group
Porter Wright is pleased to announce that Chess Bedsole has joined the Government & Regulatory Affairs group in Washington, D.C. Chess leverages more than 25 years of experience in the public and private sectors to serve clients in both government relations and litigation.
His federal and state governmental experience includes serving on the transition teams for President Donald Trump, President George W. Bush and two governors. He was counsel to U.S. Senator Jesse Helms advising on taxation, finance, appropriations and budget issues. In private practice, he has advised and represented clients on a variety of government relations matters, including tariff waivers, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) transfers, economic development projects and governmental grant programs. He has also crafted federal and state legislative, regulatory and political strategy and advised clients in governmental investigations. He has served clients as outside general counsel, providing compliance advice and crafting strategies on a wide range of legal, administrative and operational issues.
His political experience includes serving as an advisor to Donald J. Trump for President, Inc., as Alabama State Director and Director of Florida Election Day Operations for the Donald Trump for President campaign and as a member of the George W. Bush Florida Recount Team.
