BSA speaker spotlight: A Q&A with sports attorney Luke Fedlam

Porter Wright's Luke Fedlam was featured in the Black Student-Athlete (BSA) Speaker Spotlight Q&A published on Jan. 27, 2021. Luke was a presenter at the 2021 Black Student-Athlete Summit hosted by the University of Texas. In the Q&A, he talked about his presentation, "Mo’ Money, Mo’ Problems. Preparing Yourself for the NIL Environment," which focused on preparing athletes for the big changes coming this year in the area of name, image and likeness for college athletes.

As a sports lawyer, I help them make sure they don’t get taken advantage of in terms of name, image and likeness. When student-athletes are considering endorsement deals, I want to provide perspective on important things they have to think through.
