Porter Wright welcomes John Amaya to growing Washington office

Porter Wright is pleased to announce that John Amaya has joined the firm as a partner in its Washington, D.C. office. John is a member of the firm’s Litigation Department and focuses his practice in the Government & Regulatory Affairs, Immigration and White Collar Defense areas. John represents companies, institutions, foreign sovereigns and individuals in connection with federal investigations, global immigration, cross-border compliance, related litigation and congressional inquiries.

Before joining Porter Wright, John served in roles with the Department of Homeland Security, the United States Senate and the Department of Justice. John is a member of the Hispanic National Bar Association and the Hispanic Bar Association of the District of Columbia. He received his LLM from Georgetown University Law Center, his law degree from University of Washington School of Law and his undergraduate degree from University of Washington.
