Hot Topics in Economics – The Economic Aspects of Current Antitrust Policy

Attorney Grace Karabinus participated in a panel discussion of the economic issues and policies surrounding recent antitrust enforcement efforts by the U.S. government. The panel consisted of OSU Department of Economics and Moritz College of Law faculty, as well as private sector antitrust professionals. The recently filed FTC Complaint against Cincinnati-based Kroger Company’s announced merger with Albertson’s highlights the U.S. government’s ongoing enforcement of antitrust policies. The panel discussion included the economic aspects of mergers and other economic trade restraints, as well as a broader dialogue of the goal of U.S. government antitrust policies and the economic effects of these policies on stakeholders.
