Porter Wright announced today that David Johnson, Jr. has joined the firm’s Chicago market as a partner in the Corporate Department, bringing extensive experience advising owner-led businesses through complex transactions and strategic growth initiatives.

David counsels business owners, management teams, investors and in-house counsel through acquisitions, capital raises, ownership transitions, restructurings, exits and other transformative business events.  

With extensive experience serving registered investment advisers, insurance agencies, healthcare companies, and other businesses in consolidating markets, David helps clients establish the governance, ownership, and capital structures needed to support sustainable growth. Whether advising on a company's first acquisition, executing a buy-and-build strategy, securing institutional investment, or preparing for an eventual exit, he delivers practical, business-focused legal counsel aligned with each client's strategic objectives.

David received his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and received his B.A. from University of Illinois at Chicago.
