Overview
Ben is a partner in the firm’s Tax, Estate Planning & Personal Wealth Group, where he works with clients to develop customized strategies for intergenerational wealth transfers, business succession and federal estate tax planning.
Ben focuses on sophisticated estate planning with an emphasis on wealth transfer and asset protection strategies for high-net-worth clients. He designs and implements advanced trust structures, including spousal lifetime access trusts, grantor-retained annuity trusts, life insurance trusts and beneficiary-deemed-owner trusts. Utilizing strategies such as recapitalizations and complex gifting techniques to preserve and transfer wealth efficiently, Ben advises on business succession and pre-liquidity-event planning.
In addition to the area of trusts and estates, a significant portion of his practice has involved direct and regular interaction with business owners, with particular emphasis on real estate transfers, choice-of-entity planning, the resolution of business-related disputes, and the negotiation and drafting of commercial leases, employment agreements and a range of construction-related contracts.
