Overview

Rick is an attorney in the firm’s Litigation Department, where he focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation. He represents a wide variety of clients as plaintiffs and defendants at all stages of the litigation process, including pre-suit investigation, motion practice, trial and appeal.   

Rick has significant experience litigating business competition disputes, many of which involve alleged trade secret theft, non-competes and tortious interference claims. He also regularly handles trust and estate litigation, as well as cases involving executive compensation, ERISA and insurance coverage disputes. Rick’s practice spans state and federal courts, as well as arbitration proceedings. He also regularly represents clients in the transportation and logistics industry, especially when issues mature into litigation.

Prior to joining Porter Wright, Rick was an associate at a trial boutique in New York City, where he represented high net worth individuals and Fortune 500 companies in all stages of litigation across a wide variety of industries.

From 2019 to 2020, Rick served as a law clerk to the Honorable Eugene E. Siler, Jr. of the U.S. Court of Appeals, Sixth Circuit.
