Attorney Mark Koogler is quoted and mentioned as a key player in Ohio’s recent passage of captive insurance legislation in the article “Ohio Joins Captive Club” in the August 2014 issue of Captive Review.

Ohio has joined 30 other states that permit captive companies – popular risk management tools for large corporations.

“ ‘Three years and five months ago I suggested to the Department of Insurance that maybe it was time to think about enacting captive legislation,’ “ Koogler said in the article. “ ‘What I was suggesting to the lieutenant governor was when you look at what the insurance department can do to support that pro-business and pro-jobs agenda, captive insurance companies fit right within there.’ ”

Koogler says he expects up to six captive insurance management firms to be operating in Ohio by the end of the year.
