Whittaker joins Porter Wright's labor and employment team
Porter Wright is pleased to welcome Lisa G. Whittaker as an Associate in the Firm's Labor and Employment Department, where she will focus her practice in all areas of management-side labor and employment law.
Whittaker's experience includes defending both public and private sector agencies and universities in federal and state court, and before administrative agencies, in a variety of matters including public policy violations as well as claims under Title VII, whistleblower claims, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and in response to charges of discrimination filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Ohio Civil Rights Commission. She has also successfully defended state agencies against Writs of Mandamus.
Whittaker also has extensive experience with the Ohio Public Records Act and Open Meetings Act, and has spoken at seminars throughout the state of Ohio on these laws.
A graduate of The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, Whittaker also received her M.A. at The Ohio State University and her B.S. from Wright State University. She is a member of the American, Ohio, and Columbus Bar Associations and Women Lawyers of Franklin County.
Whittaker serves as Vice-Chair on The Ohio State University's Newark Campus Board of Trustees. She also actively participates on the Columbus Bar Association's Professional Ethics Committee and in the Moritz College of Law's Mentoring & More Program.
