Robert L. Brubaker Named Environmental Lawyer of the Year for 2011

Best Lawyers has named Porter Wright partner Robert L. Brubaker as the “Columbus, OH Best Lawyers Environmental Lawyer of the Year” for 2011.

After more than a quarter of a century in publication, Best Lawyers is designating “Lawyers of the Year” in high-profile legal specialties in large legal communities. Only a single lawyer in each specialty in each community is being honored as the “Lawyer of the Year.”

According to Best Lawyers, Brubaker was chosen based on his particularly high ratings in Best Lawyers' surveys by earning a high level of respect among his peers for his abilities, professionalism, and integrity.

Brubaker has practiced in the field of environmental law since 1972. He represents manufacturers, utilities, small businesses, trade associations, and public sector clients with regard to the Clean Air Act and other environmental matters. His practice includes permitting, administrative rulemaking, adjudications and appeals, and trial and appellate court environmental litigation. He is chair-elect of the American Bar Association Section of Public Utility, Communications and Transportation Law, chair of the Section’s Environmental Law Committee, and a fellow of the American College of Environmental Lawyers.

Best Lawyers compiles its lists of outstanding attorneys by conducting exhaustive peer-review surveys in which thousands of leading lawyers confidentially evaluate their professional peers. The current, 17th edition of The Best Lawyers in America (2011) is based on more than 3.1 million detailed evaluations of lawyers by other lawyers.

“We continue to believe — as we have believed for more than 25 years — that recognition by one’s peers is the most meaningful form of praise in the legal profession,” says Steven Naifeh, President of Best Lawyers.
