Porter Wright Cincinnati Attorneys Recognized by Ohio Super Lawyers® 2009
Fifty-four Porter Wright attorneys working in 22 primary practice areas were recently selected by their peers and through the independent research of the publishers of Law & Politics and Cincinati Magazine for inclusion in Ohio Super Lawyers® 2009. Seven of those attorneys reside in the firm's Cincinnati office: Kathleen M. Brinkman, David T. Croall, Theodore D. Grosser, Holly D. Kozlowski, Mark H. Longenecker, John S. Stith, and Carolyn A. Kathleen Brinkman's primary practice area is Criminal Defense: White Collar. In her 24 years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney, Ms. Brinkman prosecuted complex white-collar and other major economic crimes, public corruption, and environmental crimes. She now uses her experience to represent clients who face investigation or charges by federal or state authorities or whose property the government seeks to forfeit.
David Croall, Partner-in-Charge of the firm's Cincinnati office, practices in the area of Employment LItigation: Defense. Mr Croall has represented employers across a range of industries for more than 25 years. His practice focuses on employment discrimination, wrongful discharge litigation, and preventive counseling/training. Mr. Croall has obtained summary judgment for numerous employers as well as favorable jury verdicts in cases that have gone to trial.
Ted Grosser's primary practice area is Mergers & Acquisitions. Mr. Grosser represents both private and public companies in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventrues, and a host of complex strategic transactions. As a significant part of his practice, he acts as primary legal counsel for a number of closely held enterprises in construction, manufacturing and service industries.
Holly Kozlowski's primary practice area is Intellectual Property. Her practice focuses on patent application preparation and prosecution, including reissue, reexamination, interference and term extension, and client counseling in patent validity, infringement and freedom-to-practice matters. She also has extensive experience with PCT and national foreign patent application filings and prosecution. Ms. Kozlowski's technical background is in chemical engineering.
Mark Longenecker's primary practice area is Mergers & Acquisitions. Mr. Longenecker represents public and private companies in mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings, directors'/officers' duties, corporate/business law, and contracts. His experience includes initial public offerings, venture capital and private equity financing, private placements, investment advisory matters and representing growing companies in the consumer packaged goods, medical device and service markets. Mr. Longenecker -who has represented Cincinnati businesses for more than 25 years - helps companies meet their corporate governance and compliance obligations as well.
Jack Stith's primary practice area is Business/Corporate. Mr. Stith provides advice regarding general business and corporate law; business structure, organization, and governance; securities law; fiduciary responsibilities, indemnification, and insurance coverage of directors and officers; mergers, acquisitions, and dispositions; capital formation, including venture/private equity transactions; and complex contract issues. He works with public companies and entrepreneurial businesses of all kinds, as well as with nonprofits.
