Levine quoted after price-fixing, antitrust win

After a lengthy case dating back to 2008, a federal judge denied class certification to indirect purchasers of eggs. Partner Jay Levine was quoted in The Legal Intelligencer article, “Judge rejects class certification bid in egg price-fixing case,” which published on Sept. 21, 2015. The case involved allegations that egg purchasers engaging in price-fixing in violation of state and federal antitrust laws.

Sumner and Levine said this was a good day for the defense in a hard-fought case that dates back to its filing in September 2008. Levine said Pratter's ruling on predominance could have an impact on the claims made in the putative direct purchasers class. Pratter's decision on the certification of the direct purchasers class is pending."
