LaPlante, Logsdon elevated to 'Senior Associate'
Jamie A. LaPlante and Jeremy A. Logsdon were recently promoted to senior associate status at Porter Wright. Promotion to senior associate is a significant milestone and reflects outstanding contributions to the firm's continued success.

Jamie LaPlante focuses in all areas of management-side labor and employment law, defending employers in litigation matters, including breach of contract, whistleblower claims and public policy violations as well as claims under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and other state and federal laws and regulations. She also represents employers in charges of discrimination filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Ohio Civil Rights Commission and in appeals of unemployment compensation determinations. LaPlante represents employers in all stages of compliance with affirmative action obligations, including assisting with and preparing affirmative action plans, offering advice during audits by the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) and negotiating conciliation agreements with OFCCP.
Additionally, she advises clients on issues arising under the ADA, the ADEA, the FMLA, OSHA and COBRA compliance. LaPlante is recognized by Ohio Super Lawyers – Rising Stars, is a member of the Columbus and Ohio Bar Associations, and frequently contributes to the firm's Labor and Employment Law blog, Employer Law Report. She is also a member of the 2013 Class of Leadership Columbus. Jamie completed a B.S. from The Ohio State University, summa cum laude, and a J.D. from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, summa cum laude.
Jeremy Logsdon works with clients to protect, commercialize and exploit their intellectual property rights and to take advantage of the opportunities and manage the risks associated with e-commerce. He represents clients in the areas of intellectual property, health care and privacy law with an emphasis on clients’ acquisition, development, use and exploitation of computer software and hardware. Logsdon specializes in technology transactions and also helps clients enforce their intellectual property rights on the Internet. In addition, he advises clients in the areas of health information technology licensing and acquisitions, HIPAA/HITECH privacy and security matters, drafting and negotiating clinical trial agreement, matters involving fraud and abuse, regulatory compliance and general health law transactions. Furthermore, Logsdon counsels clients in matters related to marketing and online advertising as well as the use and commercialization of social media.
Logsdon is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). He is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Health Lawyers Association and the Columbus Bar Association. After completing a B.B.A. from Baylor University, Logsdon earned a J.D. from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.
