Employee Benefit News publishes FMLA article by Lisa Whittaker

Employee Benefit News, an online publication for employee benefit plan sponsors, reprinted Lisa Whittaker’s Sept. 19 post in Employer Law Report, Porter Wright’s blog on legal issues in the workforce. Whittaker’s article provided an overview of two recent decisions by the Third and Sixth Circuit Courts of Appeal regarding administering the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). Whittaker concludes that these cases are good reminders that employers should review their FMLA certification and notice documents and procedures to make sure they include all necessary instructions to employees, and to fully document that the employee received necessary notices.
