Bradd N. Siegel Named Labor and Employment Lawyer of the Year for 2011

Best Lawyers has named Porter Wright partner Bradd N. Siegel as the “Columbus, OH Best Lawyers Labor and Employment Lawyer of the Year” for 2011.

After more than a quarter of a century in publication, Best Lawyers is designating “Lawyers of the Year” in high-profile legal specialties in large legal communities. Only a single lawyer in each specialty in each community is being honored as the “Lawyer of the Year.”

According to Best Lawyers, Siegel was chosen based on his particularly high ratings in Best Lawyers' surveys by earning a high level of respect among his peers for his abilities, professionalism, and integrity.

Siegel has over 30 years of experience in labor and employment law litigation on behalf of companies and their managers in state and federal courts. He has successfully defended management clients against claims brought under state and federal employment discrimination statutes, ERISA, Section 301 of the LMRA, and state wrongful discharge law, including class actions.

Named for more than 20 years to The Best Lawyers in America®, Siegel was elected a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers in 1999. He has been recognized as an Ohio Super Lawyer® by the publishers of Law & Politics and Cincinnati Magazine and is one of the highest ranked employment attorneys in Ohio according to Chambers USA. Siegel is a former Chair, and current Council Member, of the Ohio State Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Law Section, and is a founding Member of the Ohio Management Lawyers Association.

Best Lawyers compiles its lists of outstanding attorneys by conducting exhaustive peer-review surveys in which thousands of leading lawyers confidentially evaluate their professional peers. The current, 17th edition of The Best Lawyers in America (2011) is based on more than 3.1 million detailed evaluations of lawyers by other lawyers.

“We continue to believe — as we have believed for more than 25 years — that recognition by one’s peers is the most meaningful form of praise in the legal profession,” says Steven Naifeh, President of Best Lawyers.
