Hikaru, a Japanese attorney admitted only in the state of California and Japan, concentrates on advising Japanese owned businesses through general business matters to complex legal disputes. He represents the best interest of his Japanese clients’ and provides practical advice to Japanese management.

Hikaru's primary focus is in the following practice areas: antitrust, labor law, federal regulatory compliance, the U.S. Foreign-Corrupt Practices Act and commercial dispute resolution. He represents several companies in connection with allegations of criminal and civil antitrust violations, including the defense of companies engaged in the manufacture of automotive parts.

He has assisted employers in a variety of labor and dispute matters, including claims under Title VII. Hikaru has also advised employers concerning charges of discrimination or retaliation filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

Hikaru engages in federal regulatory and legal compliance issues. As a member of Porter Wright’s Nanotechnology practice group, Hikaru provides research and advice on regulations on Nanomaterials.

Hikaru also assists our clients in the resolution of various commercial disputes. He has been engaged on an AAA arbitration on behalf of an international consumer electronics company in a multi-million dollar contract dispute with a supplier, which was favorably resolved. He has also supported several clients in patent infringement litigation and international arbitrations.
In addition, Hikaru regularly provides legal advice to Japanese-owned businesses with respect to general matters such as incorporation of their U.S. subsidiaries, working visas for employees from Japan, and contract reviews.

Prior to joining Porter Wright, Hikaru was associated with Nagashima Ohno & Tsunematsu in Tokyo, Japan, and engaged in mergers and acquisitions and antitrust laws.
